An antique Tibetan bead, carnelian carved in the shape of a leaf, holds an honored position as the “Guru bead” in this traditionally designed mala.

108 serpentine beads shimmer with a pale green translucence that is almost other-worldly, but the energy is one of full embodiment. Faceted natural carnelian divider beads (not dyed, as so many carnelian are) pick up the color of the Tibetan bead and add to the energy flow. Coming across these faceted carnelians as you make your way around the smooth serpentine prayer beads is a lovely sensation during meditation practice.

There’s another faceted carnelian below the Guru bead, and silky handmade rayon tassel to complete the piece.
